How to install glass mosaic:

Step1:CLEAN Concrete, masonry, cured mortar beds and plywood surfaces to be tiled must be flat, structurally sound, dry and completely clean. All contaminants must be removed with PRO-STRIP SEALER & ADHESIVE REMOVER, or by sanding, scraping or chipping. Any imperfections should be patched.

Step2:Wet or Dry? If you are tiling onto a wall that is exposed to water a cement board or water barrier must be installed behind the wall tile.

Step3:PLAN the LAYOUT Sketch your tile layout. The more time you invest in laying out your area the less time you will spend setting the tile or stone Tip: All rooms vary in size & shape. For expert advice you can always consult your tile associate or customer care for hints regarding your project.

Step4:ROOM TEMP For best results, the temperature of all tiling materials room and adhesives should be at 50 to 70 degrees for 24 hours before, and 48 hours after, installation.

Step5:Apply Thinset Using the flat side of a (3/16” x 1/4” V-notch trowel to initiate the bond coat,firmly apply white Thinset mortar into the substrate.

Step6:Comb notches With additional setting material, using a (3/16” x 1/4” V-Notch) trowel, comb horizontal, full notches in one direction to establish the proper depth of the setting bed.

Step7:Flatt en notches Using the flat side of the trowel, flatten the notches to achieve a smooth,consistent setting bed approximately 1/8” thick.

Step8:Apply sheets Apply sheets into the setting bed (paper side towards you), using light even pressure to establish contact and eliminate any voids.Tip: Use a margin trowel to remove excess setting material from the joints where sheets meet.

Step9:Tap lightly To achieve a uniform, flat surface tap lightly using a float or wooden block and a hammer.
